Vijayan has more than three decades of professional experience in a leadership role in the banking industry in India and the Middle East ( 26 years ) with highly reputed global banks including ABN Amro, Bank Muscat, etc. , wherein he has successfully introduced and embedded a “culture of risk” and strengthened process controls. He has an excellent track record of managing different aspects of Risk Management (credit risk, market risk, operational risk) and setting up credit administration functions in commercial banks (on-shore and off-shore banking entities).
He has extensive experience in formulating policies & procedures (SOPs) and implementing IT solutions (core banking, retail loan origination systems, CRM, etc.) along with strong people management skills.
He is a graduate of science from Madras University and is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He was Head of Risk, Chief Risk Officer with 3 Banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
