
Ananth, a Chartered Accountant from India, started his career as a consultant before joining the financial sector where he had a very successful career spanning over 35 years across Africa and in the Middle East. During this period, he served as a CFO or Finance Director for Banks such as Barclays, ABN AMRO and more recently in National Bank of Oman.
As a strong team player in different geographies and cultures he has had many significant achievements. He has led turnarounds, improved business performance, developed and implemented strategies, raised debt and capital and improved governance standards. Throughout his long career he has acted as a key pillar of support to the CEO and the Board and has displayed a right balance between strategic thinking and attention to minor details.
He is very adept at maintaining constructive and robust relationships externally with investors, regulators and rating agencies as well as being very effective in enhancing internal capabilities through people development and project leadership.
As a Non-executive director diploma holder from the highly acclaimed FT, Ananth is trained in Board dynamics and corporate governance codes and therefore uniquely positioned to perform Board member or Board advisory roles or how to embed the ESG principles across the organization as well as effect improvements to the disclosures.
